Takatoshi Ito, Professor

Institute of Fluid Science, Tohoku University

He received his B. Eng. (1983) and M. Eng. (1986) in Mechanical Engineering from Tohoku University, Japan. In 1986, he joined its Faculty of Engineering and in 1988, he moved and joined the Institute of Fluid Science, Tohoku University. He received a Dr. Eng. from Tohoku University in 1993, and served as an Associate Professor at the institute from 1993 to 2008. Within that period, he stayed temporarily at Stanford University as a Visiting Associate Professor to work with the SRB group from 1997 to 1998. He has served as a Professor since January 2010. His current research interests include effect of stress on fluid flow in fractured rocks and stress measurements of rocks.
